eraculprits:

We’ve decided the old full time gallery front just ain’t for us anymore. There will be a few project based exhibitions in the coming months to look out for but for now, we’re playing host to one final show in the current space.
It’s with our tea drinking, profanity loving English illustrator pal ‘French’ next week. That’s fitting really, he was one of the first to show with us above Mellino’s in late 2008 and now he’s helping us see out this space with a bang. —————————-FRENCH (UK)- a collection of new prints, a zine and more.Opens Thursday Jan 19 - continues until Jan 22.Opening night from 6pm.Proudly supported by The Outpost, Earl Grey, Tyms Guitars, Pass Port and Small House Books. —————————-

I am very happy to have been invited to participate in the Art Park/Atlantic Residency Program in Feb and March next year. It will be a great chance to work on some new projects I have in mind.

July 2011
A great art event coming up this weekend. I am unsure if there are tickets left, but a great way to get some of Australia’s most collectable artists on your wall, while supporting a cause. Here is the spiel from the website:
100 Artists. 100 Tickets. 100 Dollars. Every ticketholder wins an artwork. All proceeds to the ASRC. You’re Welcome is a charity art raffle where every ticket wins an original work. All proceeds go to the Asylum Seekers Resource Centre. Join us for one afternoon only at Mars Gallery (418 Bay St, port Melbourne) from 3-6pm on Sunday July 24 to add a special piece to your wall and contribute to a great cause.
The list of artists participating in this group show is a staggering collection of talent. Some of Australia’s most impressive and exciting established and emerging artists have generously contributed their talents to the project, donating original works to help raise money for the ASRC. Sam Leach, Jackson Slattery, Jeremy Kibel, Adam Cullen, Jo Bertini, Rhys Lee, Juan Ford, Amber Wallis, Steve Cox, Fergus Binns, Heather B. Swann, Tony Garifalakis, Jasper Knight, Lionel Bawden, Dane Lovett and Emily Ferretti are just a few artists from an amazing list contributing to the project.

I am still alive, and painting. I have been working on a Blake Prize entry recently, amongst other small drawings and ink pieces on paper. There are some tentative plans for future shows. The weather has been cold and the wind offshore.

February 2011

My solo show is on now and runs through until the 5th of March at Gilligan Grant in Collingwood, Melbourne. Thanks to the people who came to the opening reception and made it a fun night. It’s great to get all the work out of the studio and I am preparing some new projects. A book project on portraits is in the works as well as the early stages of planning a two man show studying the people at Avalon Raceway in Geelong.

Some studio shots of stretching the work for the show opening next week. Its always fun to see the work stretched after having it up on the wall as a piece of canvas for so long.

My new show opens next month in Melbourne. Reports that Bill Murray will be opening the show cannot be confirmed.

October 2010

Just back from Brisbane after a bit of a whirlwind bump in and opening night. As usual everything turned out wonderful after some stressful moments. A big thanks to all the Nine Lives cats, in particular Matt, who put us up each night, made great fruit salad for breakfast and taxied us around everywhere. And always good to work with Justin. Now to concentrate on finishing work for my solo show at Gilligan Grant in early 2011.
